সংশপ্তক – ১ বই রিভিউঃ

সে অনেক আগের কথা। বাসায় নতুন টেলিভিশন নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে। আজকের মত শত শত টিভি চ্যানেল ছিলনা তখন। ছিল বিটিভী। একটির পর একটি নাটক দেখার জন্য মুখিয়ে থাকতাম আমরা। টিভির পর্দায় দেখা কানকাটা রমজান কিংবা মালুর অভিনয় যেন প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত আবিভূত করতো। দিন যায় মানুষ বদলায়। কিন্তু স্মৃতির কাটা যেন আটকে থাকে ঠিক ওই সময়ে। যাই হোক লেখক শহীদুল্লাহ কায়সারের কালজয়ী সৃষ্টি সংশপ্তক উপন্যাসটি।

 কাহিনীর আখ্যানভাগ রচিত হয়েছে ইংরেজ শাসনের শেষ, অবিভাজ্য ভারতের বিভাজনের সূচনালগ্নে। তালতলী নামের এক গ্রামের মাতব্বর কর্তৃক হুরমতি নামের এক রমণীকে শাস্তি দেয়ার মাধ্যমে। এই শাস্তিদানের সময় ফুটে ওঠেছে তখনকার মানুষের অজ্ঞতা আর জমিদারীর দাসত্ব। তারপর কাহিনী গড়িয়েছে অনেক দূরে, বহুদূর। কখনও মনে হবে সেকান্দারই উপন্যাসের নায়ক, কখনও বা জাহেদ। আবার কখনও মালেক ওরফে মালু।

 এই ছেলেটির শিশুকাল হতে যুবক বয়সের অনেক কাহিনী যেন রচিত হয়েছে শহীদুল্লাহ কায়সারের কলমে।সাথে ফুটে ওঠেছে সৈয়দ পরিবারের ধার্মিক চিত্র, ফুটে ওঠেছে তাদের বেঁচে থাকার লড়াই। কখনও কাহিনী ঘুরতে ঘুরতে যেন চলে যায় কলকাতায়। হিন্দু-মুসলিম দাঙ্গায়। কেউই যেন কম ছিলনা। উগ্রতা যেন সর্বত্র। সৈয়দ পরিবারের কাজের লোকের ছেলে মালুও একদিন বিয়ে করে কোটিপতি আবগারি কর্মকর্তার মেয়ে রিহানাকে।

সেটা কি ভালোবাসা ছিল নাকি ছিল নিছক এক মোহ। মাঝে মাঝে লেখক খুঁজেছেন জীবণের মানে। ঘুরতে ঘুরতে কাহিনীর ইতি হয়েছিল আবারও সেই তালতলীতে, কিন্তু খানিকটা ভিন্নভাবে। অনেক হারিয়ে যাওয়া,অনেক মৃত্যু, জমিদারীর গল্প নিয়ে। আর এরই নাম সংশপ্তক কিংবা জীবণপন যুদ্ধ করতে করতে বেঁচে থাকা সৈন্য।
